For Sale: Aberconway House - £46m

Aberconway House in South Street has been put up for sale. This impressive 7 bedroom property was built in the 1920s for the industrialist Henry McLaren (who became Baron Aberconway) and offers nearly 23,000 sq ft of space, neo-georgian styling and access to "secret gardens".

The property is available through Portman Heritage and offers are asked for in excess of £46million.

Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's

Harden's Restaurant Guide has given Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's a pasting in its latest edition. The Financial Times has reported on the verdict given to the Mayfair restaurant:
...slipping down the list is Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, behind Oxford Street,
which is labelled “conservative, going on boring” by one critic. “What a
disaster!” wails another at the much-derided La Noisette, the latest addition to
the Ramsay group, in Knightsbridge.

Owner of Annabel's Has Died

Mark Birley, the founder and owner of the legendary Mayfair members' club Annabel's, has died following a stroke at the age of 77.

He founded the world famous venue - based in Berkeley Square - in 1963, and named it after his wife of the time, Annabel.
